Up and down again at the flip of a coin

The papers were full of praise and who wouldn't be after we stumbled to a more than comprehensive victory against the Australians in a one day cricket match at the Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday. So what happens next, well we lose to the Sri Lankans in a horrendous display of running between the wickets and shoddy batting and bowling on the following Tuesday. Some blame injuries, I just say it is par for the course, we lack consistency. Not because we don't have the talent but as South Africans we sometimes get ahead of ourselves. If you look at it, the victory against Australia was just one win in a tournament that will comprise of four games against both Australia and Sri Lanka before the final is decided. So we should just take it as that. The Australians seem to be idolised in this country when it comes to cricket and that attitude needs to be changed because when we beat them in a measly game, most think the job has been done. All we can do now is hope the loss against Sri Lanka will have an adverse affect to the effect the victory against the Australians had. To read more click here.
